AAQ takes stock of the second cycle of accreditation procedures for postgraduate training programmes in psychotherapy, highlighting key lessons learned and perspectives for the further development of the procedures.

In its annual report, the Swiss Agency of Accreditation and Quality Assurance (AAQ) presents its activities and publishes its annual financial statement.

At its meeting on 22 May 2026, the Higher Education Council adopted amendments to the HEdA Accreditation Ordinance, which will enter into force on 15 July 2026. The main changes concern the accreditation standards, the period of validity of accreditation, the applicable time limits, and the application of the revised Ordinance to ongoing and future accreditation procedures.

The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) has published its external evaluation report on the AAQ.

The Swiss Accreditation Council has appointed Dr Beatrice Windlin as Director of the AAQ. She will commence her position on 1 June 2026.

Every five years, AAQ is undergoing an evaluation conducted by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). This year, for the first time, the Agency has chosen to undertake a targeted review—an evaluation focused on improving a specific area.

The Swiss Accreditation Council (SAC) has set a date by which higher education institutions that have obtained accreditation with one or more conditions must submit their dossier for the fulfilment of the conditions. By this date at the latest, the higher education institution must submit its dossier to the SAC.
