On 3 December 2025, Swiss and international higher education stakeholders gathered at the Kursaal in Bern for the AAQ Day 2025 to discuss a question that was as simple as it was provocative: Does the future still need quality assurance?

In preparation of the UNESCO Global Conference on Quality Assurance in Higher Education (Paris, 2019), UNESCO is currently organizing regional events in different parts of the world in partnership with quality assurance agencies and relevant organizations. On 15-16 February 2018 Switzerland will be hosting the event for Western Europe.

The first AAQ conference on Institutional Accreditation was held on Friday, 25 November 2016, focusing in particular the communication of quality assurance.
