New report: review and outlook on accreditation pursuant to PsyG/LPsy

Between 2021 and 2025, the AAQ conducted 40 accreditation procedures for postgraduate training programmes in psychotherapy under the Federal Act on Psychology Professions (PsyPA). With the completion of this second cycle, the AAQ took the opportunity to review the experience gained and look ahead to the future.

The new publication presents the findings of this evaluation, which draws on a consultation with the stakeholders involved in the procedures. In addition to reviewing the main changes since the first cycle and developments in the health policy context, the report highlights key experiences, challenges and areas with potential for further improvement.

The findings of the evaluation will inform the further development of accreditation in the next cycle. The report outlines initial measures and areas for further consideration across several aspects of the procedure, including the reporting template and accompanying documentation, the organisation of on-site visits, and the selection and preparation of experts. It also identifies possible adjustments to the AAQ’s internal processes and quality assurance.
