Christoph Grolimund is the new ENQA president

Christoph Grolimund, director of the Swiss Agency of Accreditation and Quality Assurance (AAQ), has been nominated president of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) during the annual General Assembly that took place in Sèvres, France, on Friday 27 October 2017.

The members have elected Christoph Grolimund for this mandate for a period of three years in the ENQA board with 40 votes out of 42 ballots. He takes over the presidency from his Irish predecessor Padraig Walsh from Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).

The Board is the executive body of the Association. It is responsible for implementing the decisions of the General Assembly, for the overall management of the Association and is accountable to the General Assembly.

ENQA is an umbrella organisation which represents its members at the European level and internationally, especially in political decision making processes and in co-operations with stakeholder organisations.

ENQA contributes to this goal especially by promoting European co-operation in the field of quality assurance in higher education and disseminating information and expertise among its members and towards stakeholders in order to develop and share good practices and to foster the European dimension of quality assurance.
