The first AAQ conference on Institutional Accreditation was held on Friday, 25 November 2016, focusing in particular the communication of quality assurance.

2016-11-25-visual-summaryFor Swiss higher education institutions, the communication of internal quality assurance and its outcomes is both a challenge and an important responsibility, particularly with regard to institutional accreditation pursuant to HEdA. Accordingly, the first AAQ Institutional Accreditation Day raised great interest: over 100 people attended this opening event, which will henceforth be held every two years.

Dijana Kobas Deskovic from The Bernays College of Communication Management, Zagreb, delivered a summary of the "Dos and Don’ts of Organizational Communication“. Oliver Vettori, Dean of Accreditation and Quality Management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, gave a talk entitled "Quality Culture as Communication Culture". Finally, Peter Bøcher presented the structure of the quality assurance system at the University of Copenhagen, where he is Director of the Educational Strategy Unit, focusing on institutional accreditation and the challenges he faced with regard to internal communication.

Under the direction of Anja Schuler, Vice-President of the Swiss Accreditation Council, representatives of higher education institutions held discussions with communication experts on how best to reach students.

What to communicate, to whom, and via what channels? These questions were discussed in afternoon workshops (held in three languages, namely German, French and English).

Christoph Illigens, visual facilitator, created a visual record of the Day in order to summarize the content.

The next AAQ Institutional Accreditation Day will take place on Thursday, 29 November 2018.
